A desk in Chicago that reads customs records every morning.
ReshoreFinder is operated by CutStep AI LLC. It exists because the case for making parts in America stopped being a speech and became arithmetic, and somebody has to do the arithmetic one part at a time.
Who runs it
Nick Schwietering runs the desk. He built CutStep's sourcing systems, the customs-record readers and the capability matching, and he handles the buyer and shop conversations himself. Two rules run the desk: check every number against its primary source, and your word is the whole business.
The desk runs on software we built: customs-record readers, tariff verification against the primary sources, capability matching against real shop envelopes, and a commission ledger designed to be audited. The tools do the reading. People make the calls.
The ecosystem we work in
We distribute the Reshoring Initiative's national industry survey and document completed cases in the format its library uses. We work alongside manufacturing extension partnerships, trade associations, and the people who have carried the reshoring case for decades. Our lane is execution: the specific part, the specific number, the specific shop.
Talk to the desk
